The thriller The Copycat Killer, directed by acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Jim Donovan, is set to premiere on Lifetime September 5, bringing together an impressive ensemble of television and film talent for a gripping new take on the crime thriller genre.
Leading the cast is Melissa O’Neil, star of The Rookie, in her first-ever feature film lead role. O’Neil is joined by a powerhouse ensemble that includes Greyston Holt (The Night Agent), Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Alex Catillo (Yellowjackets) and Karen Knox (Wynonna Earp). Together, the cast brings considerable screen presence and genre pedigree to a story where no one is quite who they seem.
In The Copycat Killer, a criminal profiler finds her past coming back to haunt her when a new murder is committed in exactly the same fashion as the killer she once caught. As the case takes a terrifyingly familiar turn, her only hope of uncovering the truth may lie in a chilling face-to-face encounter with the criminal who nearly ended her life.
Produced by Vortex Media’s Jesse D. Ikeman, Justin Rebelo and Bill Marks, the film marks an exciting return to the thriller genre for Donovan. Best known for his work across both English- and French-language television, Donovan has spent recent years directing acclaimed French-language crime series, making The Copycat Killer a return to the tense, suspense-driven storytelling that has long been a hallmark of his work.
With a proven director behind the camera and a cast featuring some of the most recognizable faces in contemporary television, The Copycat Killer promises to deliver the kind of high-stakes suspense and star power that thriller fans have come to expect from Lifetime.
Don’t miss the premiere of The Copycat Killer on Lifetime September 5.
